Tell Congress they can have your bitcoins when they pry them from your cold dead hard drive

The Senate Judiciary committee is pushing a bill (S. 1241) that would require bitcoin owners to register their bitcoins. The politicians offer their usual excuses — fighting terrorism and the drug war. It’s far more likely that they want a “piece of the action,” and to protect their Federal Reserve currency monopoly. But whatever the excuse, bitcoin regulation would stifle bitcoin innovation and must therefore be resisted.

S. 1241
You must oppose S. 1241 and all other attempts to register and/or regulate bitcoins.

S. 1241 would require bitcoin owners to register their bitcoins. This will stifle bitcoin innovation. We desperately need bitcoin to serve as a check and a balance to the Federal Reserve. We do NOT need your war on terror or your war on drugs, which are the offered excuses for this bad bill. Stop imposing things on me! Protect freedom! Reject S. 1241!
