This is an event-filled message. It includes . . .
* A radio interview this afternoon
* An appearance at a Young Americans for Liberty's conference on January 22
* The Nullify Now! tour, for which DownsizeDC.org is a national sponsor. I will be speaking at one, possibly two of these events.
Let's get to the details . . .
TODAY (Friday, January 14) I'll appear on Straight Talk w/Jerry Hughes.
I've been doing this show, most Friday afternoons, since December, 2006. Because I am on the program every week, we get way past the standard soundbites, "What is DownsizeDC.org? ...Tell us about the Read the Bills Act? ...Etc."
I never know what to expect, and frequently, Jerry puts me on the spot. It is a warm, deep, and compelling conversation -- unlike anything I've ever heard on Talk Radio. Will you join us?
I'll be on for an hour, starting at 3:07 PM Eastern (2:07 PM Central, 1:07 PM Mountain, 12:07 PM Pacific). You can listen online: http://www.accentradionetwork.com/chooseplayer.htm
On Saturday, January 22, I will be speaking to the Young Americans for Liberty in Ohio. I'll be joined by a great line-up of speakers, including Jack Hunter, the Souther Avenger.
This FREE event runs from 9 - 5 PM.
Ohio Union at . . .
The Ohio State University
1739 N High St, Columbus, Ohio
Complete details are available on the web: http://yalosu.com/Ohiocon.html
Please, if you can, RSVP via Facebook events. Just type in the search box "YAL Ohio Conference!"
I will be speaking during the afternoon session, and hope to see you there (regardless of your age).
The Nullify Now! tour returns in January, 2011!
DownsizeDC.org is a proud sponsor of these events and I strongly urge you to attend.
The 10th Amendment codifies in law that We the People of the several states created the federal government to be our agent for certain enumerated, or listed, powers - and nothing more.
The essential question of our day, though, is this - when the federal government violates these limits, what do we do about it? Remember the words of Thomas Jefferson who reminds us that the various states are, “the most competent administrations for our domestic concerns and the surest bulwarks against antirepublican tendencies.”
In 1798, Jefferson wrote that "whensoever" the federal government "assumes undelegated powers," that a "nullification of the act is the rightful remedy."
Nullification is a powerful tactic we should add to our Downsize DC strategy.
Our friends at the Tenth Amendment Center put together three great Nullify Now! tour stops in 2010 - 2011 has plenty more in store. Get involved by getting your tickets now and take part of this growing movement for the Founders' Constitution today!
Have a great weekend,
