One Subject at a Time reintroduced in U.S. House and…
By Jim Babka

We have VERY good news to report on the Downsize DC Agenda. RETWEET

Rep. Mia Love has reintroduced the One Subject at a Time Act (H.R. 395). [Photo of Mia Love]

The 115th Congressional session just started, and it lasts two years. This is the earliest any of our bills has ever been introduced. That means we'll have more time than ever to work for co-sponsors.

But the news gets even better...

We already have 21 co-sponsors! That's a record!

At this stage, it's important to say "Thank You" to Rep. Mia Love. We need to praise and encourage politicians when they do good things. Doing so reinforces an action we want. It also expands Downsize DC's influence in this process.

The best way for us to say thanks, particularly if you don't live in Rep. Love's Utah district, is to use social media.

And if you don't use social media, see the P.S. section below.

These simple actions will help lead to progress. We already have co-sponsors in the following states: Two each in Arizona, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and Utah. One each for Alabama, Colorado, Idaho, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Minnesota, South Carolina, Texas, and Virginia. You can see who the actual co-sponsors are on the OSTA campaign Background page. So…

In our next message, on the One Subject at a Time Act, we'll...

  • Give you even more good news about the One Subject at a Time Act, and…
  • Help you send a letter to Congress.

Stay tuned,

P.S. Maybe you don't have a social media account. People write, sometimes angrily, to tell us why they don't. We understand why you'd make that choice! However, we would encourage you to reconsider creating either a Facebook or Twitter account. Why? Because we'll use these low-cost tools to...

  1. Make our bills move, once they're introduced.
  2. Attract more people to our cause. If we have a larger force, we can increase the pressure on members of Congress.
  3. They provide a way to speak up to members of Congress, even when we're outside their district.
