Today's Downsize DC Conference Call, my one-hour, Sunday radio show, is about a few Presidential candidates. I'll get to those details in a moment. But first, some good news!
Guess which Genesis Communications Network (GCN) hosted show is the most popular program on Sundays? That's right, the Downsize DC Conference Call. Audience levels have increased dramatically during 2007, and as a result, I've been offered a second hour.
On top of that, I'm in talks with a program director about joining a popular FM talk station in a medium-sized market. This would be quite a coup, and would, probably all by itself, double my audience. It's not a done deal yet, but wow is this exciting!
But in order to move forward, I really need additional sponsorship. In fact, as excited as I am, to continue this show through 2008, it would be very helpful to have greater financial backing. Amongst other things, this would make it possible to expand the show to even more markets and spread the message of Downsizing DC far and wide. I now have several sponsorship packages available, starting at $160 per month.
We have just one weekly show sponsor slot -- like Gun Owners of America has -- guest sponsors slots, which makes it possible to book interesting guests, and an 800# sponsorship, which gets your company mentioned every time I give out the show's phone number.
Advertisers need to fit in with my show format and image, and I'll be the sole judge of that. Political candidate advertising will NOT be accepted.
Should I accept the second hour? I really want to. Would you like to advertise your product or service to other DC Downsizers and the type of thoughtful listeners my show attracts? You can't ask for better customers than that! Please contact me at CALL at DOWNSIZEDC dot ORG.
Normally, I only check email to that address on Sunday. But this week, I'll be looking for an email from you.
Rudolph "9/11" Giuliani gives a demonstration of either a) hypocrisy or b) why the War on Terror is really, as Harry Browne put it, a War on Strawmen. In fact, what you'll learn on my show is, in my opinion, the proverbial fork in Giuliani's campaign.
Mike Huckabee is surging in the polls. Aside from the Fair Tax, this is no DC Downsizer. In fact, he's the Republican Nanny-Stater. Just how intrusive will a Huckabee government be? Tune in to find out.
Oh, and our Gun Owners Update (because Gun Owners of America
, along with DownsizeDC.org, is a sponsor of my show) will be a Second Amendment based analysis of Democratic candidate Bill Richardson, the present Governor of New Mexico.
I expect you'll learn something new tomorrow. I expect some of you will agree, and some disagree. That's why we call it "the conference call!" So I hope you'll join me, not only by listening, but also by calling.
The toll-free number is 1-800-259-9231. You can email the show at CALL at DOWNSIZEDC dot ORG (we write this out because we're trying to protect this address, as much as possible, from spam-harvesters -- just type it in as it sounds, write your message, and hit send).
The show starts at 4:06 PM Eastern (3:06 PM Central, 2:06 PM Mountain, and 1:06 PM Pacific).
And the best way to listen is at GCNLive.com.
Downsize DC Conference Call
IMPORTANT NOTE #1: CALL at DOWNSIZEDC dot ORG is the only show email address. If you hit reply to this Dispatch, someone on the Downsize DC staff will see it, probably Monday morning after the show is over.
IMPORTANT NOTE #2: The views expressed on the Downsize DC Conference Call are only those of your excellent host, and do not necessarily reflect the views of the board, staff, vendors, or supporters of the Downsize DC Foundation or DownsizeDC.org, Inc. This show is owned by the host. DownsizeDC.org is merely a sponsor, and this Dispatch message is distributed as part of that sponsorship arrangement. DownsizeDC.org does not endorse or support candidates for public office. In fact, DownsizeDC.org is legally non-partisan, and temperamentally anti-partisan -- which is to say, DownsizeDC.org counts amongst its official positions a very low-level confidence in the electoral, candidate-centered process. For more details, see "The Downsize DC Vision, a 16-page report that is, at present given to donors of DownsizeDC.org.
