Repeal the "Authorization for the Use of Military Force" (AUMF)

Do you want to deny your consent for the following Federal actions . . .

  • Undeclared wars
  • Occupations
  • Nation-building
  • Civilian drone-strikes
  • Torture, kidnapping, and murder

If so, tell Congress to repeal the "Authorization to Use Military Force" (AUMF). The AUMF is what permits the criminal acts listed above. Use the form at right.

Remember, politicians presume your consent. They understand your silence as support for their actions. Speak! Deny your consent.

  • Name the persons, groups, or States who were "the enemy."
  • Define the point of success at which the authorization would end.

It should be clear that the AUMF's initial, supposed goals have long been met. Those alleged to be responsible for the 9/11 attacks are captured or dead. Yet the AUMF still lives. And it's being abused to . . .

If you're ready to deny your consent for the AUMF, use the form at right.

Please declare your commitment to moral principles. Politicians have no special magic to turn wrong into right. If something is wrong for you to do, then it's also wrong for a group to do it. This includes the government. In fact, any institution that constantly does criminal things can no longer be called a government. The AUMF is the kind of criminality that directly contradicts government's supposed purpose.

In addition to ending State crimes, repealing the AUMF would also . . .

  • Save taxpayers billions.
  • Make you safer by creating fewer enemies.
  • Place the focus on terrorism, instead of justifying big defense contracts using false threats.

Rep. Barbara Lee's bill HR 198 would repeal the AUMF. Please support it. Use the form at right. Deny your consent for State criminality.

Use the form at right to send your elected representatives a letter about this issue. It's easy!

  • Your position will be counted by each Congressional office,
